CARE TO SHARE YOUR PASSION FOR SCIENCE WITH THE PUBLIC?

Are you passionate about your research and would you like to share it with a wider audience? Do you love to entertain your family and friends with the latest scientific discovery or fun facts about science? Do you like to challenge yourself and want to improve your public speaking skills?

Then you should join FameLab 2023, the international competition for science communication, and register for the regional FameLab semi-final in Basel which will take place on May 3 from 7-10 pm in the Versobar at the University of Basel.

The competition is open to everyone (between 18 and 35) studying or working in a STEM subject (natural sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics) or in one of the following subjects in Switzerland: anthropology, archaeology, economics, geography, history, law, linguistics, politics, psychology and sociology.

Participants of the semi-final in Basel will have the opportunity to improve and practice their talk in a presentation training that will take place on April 11 from 4:30-7:30 pm at Universitätsbibliothek Basel (more info will be provided after your registration).

The winners of the semi-final will participate in an online master class on June 2 and 3 and take part in the national final on September 18 in Bern. Further information about how it works is available here: https://www.famelab.ch/how-it-works
