The Division of Cognitive Neuroscience (DCN) at the University of Basel was founded in 2009 to promote interdisciplinary research in the field of cognitive neuroscience. The DCN is affiliated both with the Faculty of Psychology and with the Faculty of Medicine (University Psychiatric Clinics) and headed by Professor Dr. Dominique de Quervain. Scientists at the DCN have backgrounds in a variety of disciplines, including psychiatry, psychology, pharmacology, genetics, neuroimaging and bioinformatics. In the field of cognitive genetics, the DCN has strong collaboration with the Division of Molecular Neuroscience at the University of Basel. The two Divisions build the core of the Transfaculty Research Platform Molecular and Cognitive Neurosciences (MCN).
