Marnie Reed MSc
My training is in clinical psychology, with a therapeutic orientation in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches. Originally from Australia, I have lived and worked in London, Asia and Switzerland and have an understanding of the unique challenges that living abroad can bring. I enjoy working with children, teenagers, adults and families.
Individual treatment plans are central to my work and I take a flexible approach to working with clients so that they can effectively meet their own goals. Sessions are collaborative, goal-orientated and often take a problem-solving approach, using only evidenced-based methods. The focus is on identifying unhelpful thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and learning skills and strategies to overcome these.
I strive to understand my clients as human beings with unique challenges, histories, families, environments, and personalities. From this understanding we can create a strong working alliance, and most importantly, an opportunity for change. I believe in empowering my clients to make long-term positive changes so that they can live fulfilling lives in-line with their personal values and goals.
