The Office of the Dean of Research at the Faculty of Psychology strives to foster a culture of excellence and innovation in psychological research and to support the Faculty in remaining at the forefront of scientific progress. The Office of the Dean of Research is responsible for matters relating to research and the promotion of early career researchers at the Faculty of Psychology. Specifically, its remit includes:

• Supervision of activities at doctoral and habilitation level;
• Managing doctoral committees and supervising doctoral examinations;
• Examination of applications from students and doctoral candidates in connection with research activities;
• Representation of the Faculty on the University of Basel Research Committee and other university committees for research and the promotion of early career researchers;
• Coordination of Faculty measures for encouraging early career researchers;
• Conceptual development and quality assurance of research together with its substantive design through connection to regional, national, and international funding programs.
