About me

I head the Center for Cognitive and Decision Sciences at the University of Basel CDS

My research explores how people perceive and respond to risk—why we sometimes act cautiously and other times take bold chances. I study how these perceptions and decisions shift across the lifespan, as well as how groups and societies navigate questions of risk and safety. By uncovering the cognitive processes that shape decision-making, I aim to better understand the impacts on our health, finances, and overall well-being.
